Safer Recruitment

Safeguarding our children is our top priority. 

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our thorough recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):

  • Proof of qualification
  • Childcare disqualification
  • Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced Disclosure (DBS)
  • Medical Fitness Checks
  • Online and social media check
  • Section 128 checks
  • Prohibition from teaching check
  • Right to work in the UK check
  • At least two satisfactory references which meet our criteria
  • Suitability to work with children check

Additionally, where an applicant has worked abroad, applicants may need to provide a ‘Certificate or letter of good conduct’ from their home country’s embassy.

Applicants must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
