Student Loan Devices
Due to the current COVID-19 lockdown and the increase of remote learning. We are working with our families to ensure that everyone is able to have access to continuous education whilst learning at home. Since returning to remote learning after the Christmas break. I am pleased to say that All Saints’ has been able to provide over 29% of our school families with devices to support and allow them to engage with home learning during the current lockdown. So far we have provided 40 laptops, 20 iPads and numerous home internet connections to allow all of our families the same right to access remote education.
With special thanks to the Department for Education who assisted us with provide 26 laptops to boost our already good inventory to enable us to further provide devices to support our school community.
Further Device and Internet Access Allocation
We are pleased to say that we have managed to arrange a further allocation of school devices to support our families in accessing remote learning from home. We are able to further provide laptops and iPads on a case by case basis to our families to ensure that those who require urgent support are helped as soon as possible. We understand that through these unknown times family and working circumstances change and at All Saints’ we are able to assist with support those requests. We are currently working on a plan to allow a further allocation of devices to roll out from Monday 22nd February 2021.
We have also recently worked with BT on a scheme to provide access to free Wi-Fi hotspots to allow a stable internet connection for those families who currently either don’t have access to home internet or are using this mobile data. We have a limited number of these access codes available and again these allocations will be done on a case by case basis to ensure we get the best coverage possible. These allocations will also be aligned to start from Monday 22nd February.
