Student Loan Devices

Return of School Loan Devices

Due to all students returning to school on Monday 8th March we will require all loan devices to be returned back to site. To ensure that we are not having large gatherings in the main office and to enable us to quickly check the devices when they are returned we have assigned specific year groups with a day and a drop off time. Please be aware that as per the Loan Agreement that was signed when the device was collected from site you are required to return it in its original condition upon being requested to do so.

Week Commencing 8th March 2021

Monday – Yr5 & 6                     8:30am-9:20am & 2:30pm-3:20pm

Tuesday – Yr4 & 3                     8:30am-9:20am & 2:30pm-3:20pm

Wednesday – Yr2, 1 & EYFS     8:30am-9:20am & 2:30pm-3:20pm

The laptops must be brought to the large side doors on the main school hall where I will be based between the above times. Signs will be posted to guide parents. When the device is dropped off we will quickly check to ensure everything has been returned ie. Device, charger and case, we will then sign it back into school. Due to the checking process we will only be able to accept devices within the above slots. If you are unable to make any of these slots, please let us know by no later than 2pm on Friday 5th March and we will look to arrange a separate drop off time.

Over the course of the week we will then boot up each device to ensure everything is running and operating correctly and to ensure there is no damage. Once this has been completed you will receive an email confirming your device has been successfully returned.

Device and Internet Access Allocation

Due to the current COVID-19 lockdown and the increase of remote learning. We are working with our families to ensure that everyone is able to have access to continuous education whilst learning at home. Since returning to remote learning after the Christmas break. I am pleased to say that All Saints’ has been able to provide over 29% of our school families with devices to support and allow them to engage with home learning during the current lockdown. So far we have provided 40 laptops, 20 iPads and numerous home internet connections to allow all of our families the same right to access remote education.

With special thanks to the Department for Education who assisted us with provide 26 laptops to boost our already good inventory to enable us to further provide devices to support our school community.

Further Device and Internet Access Allocation

We are pleased to say that we have managed to arrange a further allocation of school devices to support our families in accessing remote learning from home. We are able to further provide laptops and iPads on a case by case basis to our families to ensure that those who require urgent support are helped as soon as possible. We understand that through these unknown times family and working circumstances change and at All Saints’ we are able to assist with support those requests. We are currently working on a plan to allow a further allocation of devices to roll out from Monday 22nd February 2021.

We have also recently worked with BT on a scheme to provide access to free Wi-Fi hotspots to allow a stable internet connection for those families who currently either don’t have access to home internet or are using this mobile data. We have a limited number of these access codes available and again these allocations will be done on a case by case basis to ensure we get the best coverage possible. These allocations will also be aligned to start from Monday 22nd February.
